Gaining weight is a simple formula. It doesn’t care about your genetics, it doesn’t care about your feelings. It doesn’t care about the whether either. If you want to gain weight you have to follow this formula or it will never happen guaranteed.

If you want to gain weight, then you have to create a calorie surplus. That’s it. The rest of what I will tell you will help you to understand how to do that and the ever changing circumstances that can keep you from being able to accomplish this.
A calorie surplus is consuming more calories than you burn daily. Every time that you do this you will gain weight. If today you take in 3,750 calories and burn only 2,900, then you will gain weight today. If you can consistently do this then you will consistently continue to gain weight.
It’s said that a pound of fat is 3,500 calories (of any kind) and depending on who you talk to a pound of fat is said to be 600-1500 calories (but from a protein source). I am not going to go back and forth with the science right now, the only thing that matters is your results.
This is why you have to have a progress report day every week. I do it on Sundays. I measure, weigh, and track everything that I want to change on that day along with daily scale weighs.
You can safely gain 1-3 pounds every single week if you will just learn to stay consistent. You can’t try it for a week, never track anything except weight, then give up talking about I tried that and it didn’t work. Come on man.
So, what keeps people from ever achieving their goals of weight gain. They don’t get their mindset right. You have to have the right mindset. You need to write out your goal and vision and put a time frame on it and read it everyday aloud 3 times per day.

I am not teaching you how to get fat. I want you to look good along the way and I don’t believe that you have to sacrifice getting fat for weight gain. I think that way of thinking is so wrong. People want to see results so bad that they don’t care what kind of weight gain that they have and because muscle is dense it sometimes takes a few pounds before you can really notice results.
It takes patience to gain weight.
